Conflict Resolution LIMRI
Conflict resolution helps dating, engaged, and married couples serve as peacemakers for each other. They try to achieve mutually acceptable and beneficial outcomes to disagreements in their relationship. The absence of conflict is not necessarily a sign of a healthy relationship. Misunderstanding and offenses are a natural occurrence when two thoughtful and confident people disagree with each other. An exceptional relationship is marked by two people who are both committed to resolving conflicts in their relationship. Resolving disputes is a sign of commitment, while peacekeeping is seeking what is best for me rather than for us.
The Conflict Resolution Report uses eleven statements. I listen to my spouse’s point of view when we disagree, and My spouse listens to me when we disagree. Comments like these will help identify areas where communication is positive and affirming and areas needing improvement. The report gives a side by side comparison of the man’s and woman’s self-views and their views of each other. The report validates areas of engagement as Agreement or Improvement Needed.
The report also includes:
- Strength worksheets that help couples to celebrate their agreement (strengths).
- Improvement needed worksheets that guide couples to establish a pattern to resolve their conflicts.
- All worksheets use Scriptures, Principles, Discussion Questions, and Practical Applications.
- Growth Plans are devotionals that help couples begin their journey of enrichment.
The Bible teaches, “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” (Romans 12:2).
Conflict resolution restores the peace that is missing in a relationship. The two most important questions for resolving conflict are:
- What do you want to be different about…?
- How can I make things better for you?
