Relationship satisfaction describes the quality of a dating, engaged, or marriage relationship. A relationship’s quality depends on how a person’s deep longings are discussed and validated by their partner. Most people understand that no one can complete the other (as popularized in the movie Jerry Maguire). Still, a relationship offers the best opportunity to love someone richly and be loved extravagantly. The deep longings of a man or a woman are not a mystery or to be feared.
