Communication LIMRI
Communication is the engine of every relationship. Positive and affirming communication is the fuel that empowers a couple to achieve relationship satisfaction. A couple that practices active listening will find that communication and relational satisfaction will improve. These new skills will help couples reach each other’s hearts with thoughtful words, a welcoming tone of voice, and relaxed body posture.
Research shows that the speaking person has only three to seven seconds before their spouse begins to respond to what is said. The listener hears the words, but they are also analyzing the tone of voice, facial expressions, and body language. A spouse will not understand the conversation intent if a person’s words do not align with his/her tone of voice or body language.
The Communication Report uses eight statements like, we use encouraging words when speaking…, and we are good listeners. Comments like these will help identify areas where communication is positive and affirming and areas needing improvement. The report gives a side by side comparison of the man’s and woman’s self-views and their views of each other. The report validates areas of engagement as Agreement or Improvement Needed.
The report also includes:
- Strength worksheets that help couples to celebrate their agreement (strengths).
- Improvement needed worksheets that guide couples to enrich their communication.
- All worksheets use Scriptures, Principles, Discussion Questions, and Practical Applications.
- Growth Plans are devotionals that help couples begin their journey of enrichment.
