Self-love is an essential element of healthy relationships and family life. If you don’t love who God has made you to be and what he has given you to do, you will not be able to give your best to the people that you love and who love you the most.
Self-love is not selfishness or self-serving but loving the redeemed life that you have received from Christ Jesus. Your life is part of the redemption story that began 2000 years ago. Your redemption story continues with each new day.
This is the best news anyone can hear because yesterday and today do not define or label you. You are a redeemed child of God who wakes up each day to another opportunity to celebrate who God has made you to be and what he has given you to do.
The book series: Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, sometimes sums up our day, week, month or year. The things that we have done or what has been done to us can be tragic and disheartening. But you are more than your choices, circumstances or history.
You are part of “His Story” that ends very well for you. Love covers a multitude of sins and love never fails. Spend some time this day, and love who God has made you to be and what he has given you to do. Love yourself and the people around you.
